William
"Bill" Turner - MIDWAY - William "Bill" Turner, 64,
died Friday, May 13, 2011 at his residence. He has lived in Midway for the
last 8 years. Bill retired as service manager of the maintenance facility
for the United States Postal Service in Waycross. He was a former member
of the 117th Georgia Air National Guard and the Metter Volunteer Fire
Department. Bill was past president and an active member of the Dixieland
Cruisers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ann Turner
of Metter and a half- brother C.D. Dean of Guyton. Bill is survived by his
wife of 30 years, Gencie Bashlor Turner of Midway; a son, William Turner
(Angie) of Metter; a step-son, Ralph Bashlor, Jr. (Pam); step-daughters,
Ramona Watson, Barbara Solley, Beverly Taylor, Marcia Harrison (Jim),
Shirley Scott, Laura Lee Tabakian (John); and "PaPa Billy" to 12
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2011, Richmond Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service:
2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2011, Richmond Hill Funeral Home, Cox Chapel
with Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Burial: Dorchester Cemetery,
